How it's calculated

  1. Every unit is converted to pascals — the SI unit — and from pascals into whatever unit you need.
  2. So converting in either direction comes down to two multiplications, and no precision is lost along the way.

Example: 1 bar = 0.1 MPa = 1.0197 kgf/cm² = 14.504 psi = 750.06 mmHg = 10,197 mm w.c.

The SI unit is the pascal (Pa); every conversion goes through pascals (GOST 8.417). 1 kgf/cm² ≈ 0.0981 MPa ≈ 0.981 bar (technical atmosphere).
